While there are some pre-packaged granular cartridges in existence, they still do not solve other problems inherent to granules. Granules can always settle from shipping and handling which can lead to dust particles from individual granules rubbing against each other.

Care must be taken to avoid getting dust in the breathing loop. An ExtendAir adsorbent cartridge will not create dust in handling and loading the canister. It can also be loaded correctly in less than a minute compared with 5 to 15 or more minutes using granules.
